Fumaric acid is an organic compound with the formula HO2CCH=CHCO2H. A white solid, fumaric acid occurs widely in nature. It has a fruit-like taste and has been used as a food additive. Its E number is E297. Fumaric acid has been used as a food acidulant since a long time. It is approved for use as a food additive in the EU USA and Australia and New Zealand. It is generally used in beverages and baking powders. It is used to make paints and plastics, in food processing and preservation, and for other uses. Micro-encapsulated Fumaric Acid is manufactured by wurster coating process. We have different sizes of encapsulating machines to take a batch of 1kg to 500kg. Micro-encapsulation of Fumaric Acid is done by sparay painting of a suitable grade of Fumaric Acid with hydrogenated vegetable or with mono and diglycerides. The inside core is of say about 80% Fumaric Acid and the coating is the balance. |
